I guess it shouldn't surprise me that some cookware goes up in value over time, especially if it is in a sealed box. Antique silverware and crystal and things like that go up in value, so why would cookware be any different?
Still, until I got this box and started looking into it, I had no idea. I found this same set on sale on WalMart.com for $399. Obviously not being sold by the Walmart Corporation.
The box itself is dirty. It was in a garage, but it is sealed and when I shake the box, the contents barely move, so it seems that the Corning Ware is still in new condition.
It probably doesn't help that I'm old enough to remember when this stuff was still being made in this pattern and was everywhere. There was blue flower Corning Ware on the table at every holiday gathering.
I'm not going to ask $399 for it.
