In the 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Porsche 917 Long Tail attracted attention for its amazing performance and design. In particular, car number 3 was driven by drivers Henri Pescarolo and Willy Kauhsen. This car was a long-tail version of the Porsche 917 series, which was particularly excellent in aerodynamic performance, and was developed to enhance competitiveness on high-speed circuits.
In the Le Mans race, the Porsche 917 Long Tail showed a great performance, but unfortunately, it was forced to retire due to mechanical trouble. However, Porsche won first and second place in the race that year, proving the outstanding design and performance of the 917.
